INTERNSHIPS FOR MINORITIES
Field: Journalism
Description: Internship with hands-on training in journalism and mentoring by news veterans. Nominees must be enrolled in a historically black college or university or in a college or university that has significant numbers of students who are members of ethnic or racial minority groups.
Field: Media-related
Description: This unique, multi-year program prepares a diverse group of talented young professionals to enter the media workforce with specific job-related skills, knowledge of the corporate environment and a strong foundation for future advancement.
Field: Various
Description: Awarded to outstanding ethnically diverse students. Interns are graduating high school seniors, college or university freshmen or sophomores with a grade point average of B or better, and a combined SAT score of at least 1000, or an ACT score of 20 or better.
Field: Advertising, Marketing, Media Information Technology
Description: Internships in communications to undergraduate students of color during the summer immediately following their freshman, sophomore or junior year of college.
Minority Editorial Training Program
Field: Journalism
Description: The program's main thrust is to provide participants -- recent college graduates or journalists with limited professional experience -- the training and support necessary to put them on a fast track to success.
